Welcome

Life can be overwhelming and feel painful at various times in our life. However, I believe it is in our human nature to be resilient and find a path that feels aligned with what matters most to us. Therapy can be a valuable resource when you are needing deeper processing, more tools, create new habits, and discover more about yourself.  We all need the right kind of support and feel safe in the spaces we open up in. As a therapist, I consider it an honor to be part of your journey and be in the safe space with you.

Approach

My approach to counseling is humanistic and person-centered. I utilize evidence based techniques that are strongly grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness. I believe in a collaborative, therapeutic relationship  and view a client as the expert of their own experiences. During our work together, I will be an active participant in connecting you to your personal values, strengths, and insight. We will explore beliefs about yourself, behaviors, and thought patterns that might make you feel stuck at times. I strongly believe in the importance of the therapeutic relationship, and will meet my client where they are at in their personal journey. You will be invited into a warm, non-judgmental,  empathetic, and safe space.

Background

Working in this profession has been a passion of mine since graduating with my MA, for Mental Health Counseling, in 2012. My background consists of working in psychiatric hospitals, private practices, addiction treatment facilities, and my private practice since 2017. I specialize in struggles with anxiety, depression, trauma, boundaries, and self-esteem concerns.

I have extensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness. I am committed to continued education that will provide me with tools to support my client’s growth and well-being. Reaching out is such a big leap and takes so much courage. Thank you for considering me to be part of your journey.
